Tyson “Ty” Taylor, 92, passed away peacefully, in the loving care of his family and the Stratton VA Medical Center Hospice Unit staff, on February 24, 2015. Ty was born in Croton Falls, N.Y. and graduated from Union College. As a young man, he enlisted in the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II and was involved in combat during the Battle of the Bulge, crossing the Ruhr and Rhine Rivers in Germany. Ty was the beloved husband of the late Betty Taylor and a wonderful father to Cole Taylor (Claire) and Linda Taylor (Bruce). His grandchildren, Lindsay, Ali, Eve and Gus, will always remember their grandfather’s warm, caring, giving nature and his willingness to lend a hand whenever needed. Friends and family knew Ty as a gentleman who gave without concern for reciprocity. His love of nature and animals was always present. The family wishes to thank the Stratton VA Medical Center ‘s Home Based Primary Care Program for the caring support they provided Ty over several years, and the staff at Kenwood Manor Assisted Living facility for their outstanding dedication in providing much kindness to Ty. The family will have a private service to celebrate Ty’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in loving memory of Ty may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Albany, NY 12204.
