Brittis served 22 years, during both the Korean Conflict in Japan and Vietnam specializing in neurosurgery. He established the first neurosurgical unit at a hospital for the Arab army in Amman, Jordan for the State Department. Col. Brittis received the Legion of Merit for his service. While on an extended visit to Amman to see her husband, Mrs. Brittis was asked to decorate the King’s salon, which was a one year undertaking.
